Brief Overview / Significance
  • The Act requires persons having non-domesticated species in their possession to take care to ensure that such animals do not injure people.
  • Liability is imposed on the person having possession of such an animal unless the person suffering such injury consented or contributed to it.
  • This applies even if there was no negligence on the part of the person keeping the animal.
