The Hawk and Owl Trust is a registered charity
dedicated to the conservation and appreciation of all birds of prey including owls.
Projects involve practical research, creative conservation and education, often conducted
in close partnership with landowners, farmers and others. Members are invited to take part
in population studies, field surveys, etc. Studies of Barn and Little Owls, Hen Harrier
and Goshawk are in progress. The Barn Owl Conservation Network was launched in 1988 to
implement a countrywide programme of habitat creation and the provision of artificial nest
sites. The Trust's Education Officer manages its National Conservation and Education
Centre in Newland Park, Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire.
The Trust is able to give initial advice on the care of injured
birds of prey and can usually put members of the public in touch with a local
rehabilitator.
The Trust publishes a newsletter, Peregrine, and educational materials
for all ages. |
