The state is practically surrounded by water with habitats that vary from low mountain regions in the northwest to flat coastal plains in the south. Coastal tourism is impacted by the salt marsh mosquito while snowpool species impact the northern tourism industry. Agriculture is affected by the floodwater mosquitoes and urban areas are influenced by those that breed in artificial containers. New Jersey's wide range of habitats host a broad range of mosquito species. This website provides information on mosquitoes and their control in the state of New Jersey.
