(B125) - "basic building block of living organisms. A typical cell contains cytoplasm and a nucleus enclosing DNA. In animals, cells are bounded by a cell membrane. Fungi and plants cells also have a cell wall surrounding them. A whole organism may consist of a single cell, a number of cells of only a few different types, or very large numbers of cells of many different types. Within a multicelled-organism, cells may be found individually (e.g. red blood cells and white blood cells within blood) or may be attached to one another to form tissues of various levels of organisation."
