Individual Methods for Feeding Methods - Device

The feeding methods outlined in this section require prior preparation in terms of making devices for use by the animals, including items that must be opened or manipulated to obtain food, frames to hold food items, and containers that randomly release food such as insects.

Method Large, leafy tree branches, mainly willow, freshly cut and hung from raised metal holders to secure them 8-10 feet off of the ground.
Species Giraffe.
Purpose Food to be eaten as if cropped for normal trees.
Pro Readily available.
Con Can be time consuming to collect. Substances from some plants and trees are poisonous, so should be careful which are used.
Improvements Use a pulley system to hoist browse up into the enclosure.
Comments Difficult to obtain a constant supply of branches.
