Individual Methods for Feeding Methods - Device
Fruit Rope ‘Necklace’

The feeding methods outlined in this section require prior preparation in terms of making devices for use by the animals, including items that must be opened or manipulated to obtain food, frames to hold food items, and containers that randomly release food such as insects.

Fruit Rope ‘Necklace’

Method Cored fruit threaded onto a rope, spaced loosely. The rope is then draped in loops over perches. As birds perch on the rope, it moves.
Species Greater Vasa Parrot.
Purpose Provide a mobile feeder that requires birds to balance on a moving perch while feeding.
