Further Information
  • Appropriate treatment may include:
    • For ventricular arrhythmias: premature ventricular contractions: Lidocaine 1-2 mg/kg intravenously as a bolus. (B601.10.w10)
    • For supraventriclar tachycardia and possibly in the treatment of atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation: Verapamil 0.2 mg/kg subcutaneously every 8 hrs. Monitor effect by ECG. If giving intravenously, monitor blood pressure during administration. (B601.10.w10)
    • For prevention of bradycardia: Glycopyrrolate 0.01 mg/kg intravenously. Monitor heart rate and rhythm. (B601.10.w10)
    • For atrial fibrillation: Digoxin 0.003 - 0.03 mg/kg orally every 12-48 hours. (J15.27.w1)
