General Description
  • Inflammation of the urethral mucosa was detected in about 10% of captive female elephants during an ultrasonographic study of the urogenital tract and appeared as one or more echodense regions (1 - 3 mm) surrounded by mucosa which was nearly anechoic. (J54.19.w1)

  • Lesions in some elephants were sufficiently extensive and painful that the elephants would not allow a bull to mate. (J54.19.w1)
